Alice Springs is certainly the perfect destination for art lovers who also want to enjoy romantic Australia vacations together. Just make sure you plan around the artistic activities that take place each year so you can make the most of the experience.

Of course, you may perhaps have time during the course of the day when you are not attending art festivals or observing pieces in art galleries. Here are some romantic activities you can do in Alice Springs:

• Enjoy a 60 minute hot air balloon tour with breakfast. This is a romantic way for you and your loved one to enjoy the beauty of Australia from an aerial view. You will also get breakfast consisting of a four course meal and sparkling wine.

Artistic Australia Vacations

Many couples enjoy artistic type destinations for their romantic getaways because they find the romance and love finding and admiring artistic displays. If you and your special person are looking for the perfect holiday destination that will give you more of an art type experience, then you should definitely consider Alice Springs in Australia.

Alice Springs is the second-largest town in the Northern Territory of Australia, and is sometimes simply called “The Alice” or “Alice” by locals and visitors alike. It is often called Australia's art capital because it has many local and aboriginal art galleries.

Local and Aboriginal Art on Your Romantic Australia Vacations
As you may know, Australia is the native home of the Aborigine people and their artistic expressions are on display in many galleries across Australia. You and your spouse will enjoy the experience of sharing in the artistic displays of the native people. Some of the works on display in the galleries include pieces by Emily Kngwarreye, Minnie Pwerle, Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, Albert Namatjira and Wenten Rubuntja.

Annual Events at the Araluen Art Center

The Araluen Art Center in the Alice Springs area is home to many annual artistic events. One such event is the annual Desert Mob Art Show, which showcases work by artists from remote areas in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Southern Australia. Art collectors and art lovers from everywhere across the world go there each year to see and hopefully acquire artistic pieces from the collections on display. You and your partner can probably plan to vacation in Australia in September, which is when the Art Show takes place.

The Araluen Art Center is also home to Bass in the Dust, a music festival that showcases talent from orchestras and world-class ballet dancers. There are also local musical performances at this festival. This however is usually held in July so you and your partner are going to have to decide which month to visit to experience either of these two activities!

The Outback: Ayers Rock – a Magical Landmark to Visit on Romantic Australia Vacations

Does exploring natural wonders of the world make your toes tingle?

Then you and your favorite person absolutely must visit the legendary Ayers Rock.

This top ten romantic thing to do in Australia is a large sandstone rock that is located in the Red Center.

The Red Center is just another, and more fitting, name for the desert area located throughout South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

The Red Center actually gets its name because of its red sand and red rocks.

Ayers Rock, which is traditionally known as Uluru, is the major landmark in the area that grabs the attention of hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

A trip to this natural wonder of the world is a picture perfect Australian getaway vacation.

Romantic Things to do at Ayers Rock

Here is a list of some of the things you can do while visiting Ayers Rocks some are more touristy than others:

• Take camel rides around Uluru. Could be quite boring for some but you do get wonderful views that are perfect for taking photos.

• Participate in aboriginal culture by doing dot painting workshops with local artists. These workshops are usually held at the Uluru Cultural Center.

• Take a helicopter ride over Uluru to get wonderful aerial views of the great sandstone rock.

• Have a lunchtime picnic within this luxurious and unique honeymoon landscape.

One of the main things that you can perhaps do while visiting Ayers Rock is visit Kata Tjuta Cultural Center, which is at the base of Ayers Rock. There, you can find out some interesting factoids about the local Anangu people by watching videos and looking at authentic art displays. The Center makes it as authentic as possible by displaying pieces of art created by the Anangu people themselves.

And, if you and your partner are more on the adventurous side, then you can visit Ayers Rock and actually climb to the top.

Climbing is a favorite activity of mine especially getting to the top and enjoying the view from above.

Just make note of the fact that the climb is just about an hour long and gets a little bit tiring during hot summer days!

Hotels and Resorts at Ayers Rock

The main place for accommodation is the Ayers Rock Resort. It is located right in the heart of the Red Center, and has several different hotels, apartments and campgrounds available. Your choice of where to stay would really depend on the kind of experience you want to have while at Ayers Rock.

One of the top-of-the-line hotels is Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel, which is a five-star property. Its décor focuses on aboriginal heritage and culture, so you will truly get a feel of Australia by staying there.

While to some people Ayers Rock might seem like a pile of sand surrounded by very red dirt, to us it’s a highlight and the perfect romantic getaway and unique honeymoon destination.
